Our Mission

The mission of the Diablo Diamonds softball organization is to develop young girls on and off the softball field. We strive to instill important values, such as hard work, accountability, teamwork and sportsmanship, both in games and at practice.

 

We believe that demonstrating these values, and consistently dedicating time to learn new skills and improve basic fundamentals has allowed us to excel in softball and succeed in life, and we aim to teach girls to do the same.

Our Story

Our Goals

Katelyn and Joelle grew up playing softball together in and around the Diablo Valley. Throughout middle school and high school, they spent time competing with (and against) each other on various teams in the Bay Area, before graduating and leaving home to attend college.

During college, they each stayed involved with softball in different ways, whether it be playing, coaching or a combination of both. After earning their degrees and returning home, Katelyn reached out to Joelle to coach a 10U softball team with her and her dad, Kurt. They coached 4 seasons together for 3 different organizations, and ran multiple skills clinics. They then enlisted high school friend and teammate, Nicole, before establishing the Diablo Diamonds softball organization in 2019.

  • Provide positive role models for impressionable young athletes

  • Build confidence and pride as a team and as individuals

  • Improve season to season, tournament to tournament and game to game
